[Ralph happens to be paging through the journal, looking bored as ever. No one's in the room right now, so he feels like there's nothing wrong with picking at his nose a little. Of course, the journal is actually recording all of this. Ralph makes a displeased face.]

Yeesh... still boring. Isn't anything fun going on around here...?

[Then he wipes his finger on one of the pages and the video cuts off.]

Great. So the journal had been recording. And now he has a bad feeling about this.

Ralph sighs.]

nothing. The use of video is not super intuitive for us folk from barely post-feudal societies, okay? Either that or Ginko is privately enjoying the ambiguity. It's actually pretty difficult to tell, sometimes.]

[Whatever reason, Ralph is giving the journal a flat look.]

Hm? [a faint smirk] No, he crawled into town and won't leave. Probably looking for water.

[Ginko's pretty easy to spot, even considering the range of hair colors in Luceti. He's standing with his collar turned up against the cold, hands buried in his pockets, pointless cigarette in his mouth.

At his feet is a startlingly large freshwater turtle.]

[Ralph is even easier to spot, considering he's nine feet tall. He does manage to pick out Ginko as he nears him. And then for a moment, he just glances between the man and the turtle silently.]

What, so you nabbed yourself King Koopa? This is what all the fuss is about?

Hm? [WOW YOU'RE HUGE.

So interestingly huge that it's a few beats of silence while "King Koopa" bounces around in Ginko's brain until he realizes it isn't translating. Whatever; close enough. Surely turtles are a universal creature.]

No, it should be hibernating, right now. That's what they do. [except this one, which looks more in the mood bite whatever is thwarting its mysterious quest into town. Ginko points at it without ever taking his eyes off of Ralph.]

Tell me about it! I know this place's supposed to be all peaceful and stuff now without the Malno-nos, but at least make it a little interesting!

[They could probably do winter activities and stuff, but it's so damn cold out that the idea of being out too long is making Norma feel numb and sick.]

[Norma scrunches up her face - Ralph, you're talking funny again - and tilts her head.] Well, I do know there was a long time ago where we used to have a kind of fun park made up. Y'know, carnival games and rides and all that. I think you could look it up in the database, or something, but I uually just kick the darn thing and it works ok for me.

[Don't ask her how, Norma just has a magical, tech savvy kick.]

Well, I just marathon watched the entire series of Golden Girls. Totally a good time, but I'd be down for some mountain climbing, maybe a little exercise. Pottery class might be good, want to get a good start on my New Years resolutions.

See all that negativity you are dumping is exactly the reason you are bored. Being a big unenthusiastic lump, and just putting everyone else's excellent ideas down is why you are bored in the first place. It is like if someone went, hey, let's all go drive go-karts and shoot paint balls at one another while blasting Iron Maiden you would be all like naw, that is lame, I am just going to sit and mope.

[He shakes his head]

By the way did you want to try and build some go-karts and have a paintball match?

Around here, I think boring is a good thing. I mean, I don't really enjoy being bored, but I would rather be bored than have everyone's laundry catching on fire or the spirits going crazy again.
