Hey. Um, Luceti guys. I need to talk to all about something. I don't know exactly how to start off, but... You know what? I'll just get out with it.

What's the deal with kids around here? I don't want anything to do with 'em, but at the rate they wind up trying to "be my friend", I'll wind up with a gaggle of 'em following me everywhere in no time! I don't get it. I try being nice. I try being mean. Nothing works in keeping 'em away from me! I'm not fit to do that much babysitting. I'm a bad guy for crying out loud!

I mean... okay, I'm not bad most of the time, and there is one kid I'm kinda lookin' out for. But that's it! That's where I want it to stop. Just one kid! That's my limit. I don't need any more of a headache from the rest of these little gremlins running around when there's a village full of responsible adults and oddly enough teenagers who should be able to handle them much better than me. So what is it? What's the secret, to getting brats to stay away from me?

I'm just saying! People could be parts of video games without even knowing. It's weird and kinda dangerous, but hey, it happens.

That's... kind of a weird thought. As nice as it may be to have save points, I think I like not being made out of code or whatever it is.

Eh, whatever helps you rest at night, kid. But at least... if you can't reset your mistakes, you can do what you can to make up for them, y'know? Set a new high score.

Do you really think that doing that would be able to make up for the mistakes you made, even if they were really bad? Even if... even if people ended up getting hurt because of them?

Kid... I don't really know for sure. Some things... They can hurt so much it might not really make up for it. [He's touched in this way. He remembers a crying girl at a crumbled cookie cart.] But I guess... it's better to try and make more good things than to - y'know, not.

Yeah. Even if it can't make up for it, at least you tried your best. That's gotta count for something, right?

You might be right about that. A lot of the times... even when it doesn't look like it counts, it still does. That kinda stuff just comes easier to heroes.

I don't think being a hero has anything to do with it.

Uh, hello? Yeah, it does. The goody two shoes are naturals at this stuff - usually on the first try, too.

Not where I come from. It would be nice if it worked that way, but the heroes usually have to work really hard in order to win. At least, the ones I know did.
